February 2021
During the snowfall of February 2021, I walked past Victor Hugo café in Marchmont, a favourite breakfast spot of mine. The bold red and golden stone hues set against the white snow inspired me to capture the scene through painting. My aim was to develop a loose impressionistic style that lends itself well to one-night painting projects.
I used an iPhone photograph as a reference and painted with acrylics on canvas sheet across 4 hours. Victor Hugo Deli later reached out to purchase the print for usage on café merchandise such as postcards.
